My friend Travis takes an awesome adventure every August for his birthday and this year he chose a road trip to Alaska. He rigged up his Land Rover with a roof tent and drove 8,800 miles with two good friends.
There are over 200 pictures in the story so I apologize for the jump to Build Race Party but it’s a great read if you love road trips with friends.

I hope to own a Land Rover one day and I was open to any of them (even the Freelander) but not the Discovery. I always thought it looked a bit wonky but man...
That’s one nice Disco. First the Defender and now the Disco. I’m so fickle.

This is fantastic, mind if I share it on overland?
I think it would be very well recieved. Also hit up Hammerfistpunch for authership permissions to that sub.
Also, you’re buddies Disco is awesome. Then again I’m slightly biased....

Bill - we’re trying to assemble a database of road trip resources over at EnthusiAtlas.com ... let me know if you’d like to contribute / have any ideas!
Also, Disco + Alaska has me jealous. Looking forward to reading in entirety.

Thanks.
Roofrack is too heavy for my tastes, I need to find a lighter one that is also flat and not two tiered.

Been searching for bumpers and baja racks for months now. I have the money but I haven’t found anything close enough to buy yet.

Yeah, shipping is a bitch when it comes to heavy gauge steel.

Although now that I think about it,
http://www.rte-fab.com
has a fab shop in NC so it’s close enough to drive?

For sure! Please reshare it to overland. I'll hit up hammerfistpunch tomorrow.
